Exposure Conditions for Cyclic Corrosion Testing

Jun 03, 2020

Workroom Temperature Conditions:

In the CCT test, the workroom temperature environment refers to laboratory room temperature conditions. Room temperature conditions can often change the performance of the test sample very slowly. For example, the sample after spraying with salt spray is left at room temperature for two hours. The sample actually undergoes a slow drying process under specific temperature and humidity conditions. Generally speaking, there are no corrosive vapors and gases in "room temperature conditions". There is almost no gas flow, the temperature is usually 25±5℃, the relative humidity is 50% or lower, and the laboratory conditions should be monitored and recorded during each test.

Conditions in the Workroom:

Non-room temperature conditions usually refer to the exposure conditions in the test chamber. In the conversion between different non-room temperature conditions, the test sample can be manually moved from one test box to another test chamber, or in a fully automatic test chamber to realize the cycle from one condition to another condition. The temperature and relative humidity should be monitored for each test. If possible, an automatic control system should be used. The temperature deviation should be accurate to ±3 ℃ or less.

Salt spray conditions:

Salt spray conditions can be achieved in a B117 type test chamber, or manually operated under laboratory conditions. Nozzle can spray mist salt solution. In general, in addition to NaCl salt solution, electrolytes containing other chemicals can also be used to simulate acid rain or other industrial corrosion. The brine concentration is 0.5%.

The Spraying Process of LIB Cyclic Corrosion Test

Salt spray system:

The LIB CCT circulating corrosion test chamber adopts the principle of siphon, uses the saturated barrel air pump to heat the water, and then preheats the gas, combined with the quartz spray tower to spray and disperse the saline solution to the studio, so that the salt mist is finely and evenly distributed on the sample surface;

Temperature and humidity control:

The bottom of the chamber is equipped with a heating system to ensure the working room environment and prevent the temperature drop from cooling the salt spray to affect the test. The humidity control range of the test chamber is 30-98%;

Corrosion fluid conditions:

The brine tank has its own stirring system, which can better accelerate the dissolution of the brine and prevent the salt particles from agglomerating, thereby ensuring the uniformity of the salt spray solution. Distilled or deionized water must be used for water. The brine concentration is 5%, the PH value is 4-8, and the temperature is 24±3℃. During use, the solution may be contaminated, and the solution should be replaced regularly.

LIB circulating corrosion series test chambers meet the test standards and are strictly manufactured by third-party quality inspection. Welcome to consult LIB test chamber products.
