How To Maintain The Heating System And The Humidification System Of Constant Climate Chambers

Jul 10, 2023

Constant climate chambers is also known as temperature and humidity test chamber, alternating humidity and heat chamber, widely used in all kinds of manufacturers, such as: automotive industry, electronic products, ships, aviation, aerospace, tertiary research institutions, etc., is common equipment for simulation environmental test equipment. However, in the use of temperature and humidity test chamber, it is necessary to pay attention to maintenance, because it can directly affect the service life of the test chamber. Many users will only use the temperature and humidity test chamber, completely do not know how to maintain it. In order to solve this problem, let's introduce the maintenance knowledge of the temperature and humidity test chamber:

For the heating system, we need to pay attention to the following parts:

Heating Strip Functional check, check whether the wire is connected well, no damage once every half a year. If the heating strip is broken, Please replace it in time.
Circulation fans motor Functional check, check whether there is noise during working and the screws fixing the fan blade are loose. If there is noise, please adjust motor levelness.
Temperature sensor

1. Clean the sensor regularly: The temperature sensor should be kept clean from dust or dirt that can accumulate on its surface. Use a damp cloth or soft-bristled brush to gently clean the sensor, and avoid using harsh cleaning agents that can damage or corrode the sensor.

2. Avoid physical damage: Make sure that the sensor is securely installed and avoid bumping or hitting the sensor, as this can cause damage or affect its accuracy.

3. Check the connections: Inspect the wiring and connections regularly to ensure that there are no loose or frayed wires that can affect the accuracy of the sensor reading.

4. Calibrate the sensor: It is important to calibrate the sensor periodically to ensure that it is providing accurate readings. Many temperature sensors can be easily calibrated using a reference thermometer.

5. Store the sensor correctly: When the sensor is not in use, store it in a dry and cool place to avoid exposure to high temperatures or moisture for a long time.

Solid-state relay Check once every half a year regularly, clean dust and tighten screws.
Contactor Check once every half a year regularly, clean dust and tighten screws.

For the humidification system, we need to pay attention to the following parts

Evaporator Check regularly, clean dust from fan blade and tighten screws
Condenser Check regularly, clean dust and tighten screws.
 Compressor

1. Regular Cleaning

The first and most important step in maintaining the compressor of a test chamber is regular cleaning. Dust and debris can accumulate on the compressor, causing it to overheat and reduce its efficiency. To avoid this, it is recommended that you clean the compressor regularly using a soft cloth or a vacuum cleaner. Make sure to turn off the test chamber and disconnect all power sources before cleaning the compressor.

2. Regular Lubrication

The compressor in a test chamber has many moving parts, and regular lubrication is essential to keep it running smoothly. Make sure to check the oil levels in the compressor regularly and fill it up if necessary. You should also change the oil at regular intervals as recommended by the manufacturer.

3. Regular Inspection

Regular inspection is also necessary to maintain the compressor of a test chamber. Check for any signs of wear and tear, leaks, or damage. If you notice any issues, it is important to address them immediately to prevent further damage to the compressor. Check the pressure gauge value regularly. Under the machine stop condition, the pressure range should be 5 ~ 15bar; Under the machine is running condition, the pressure range is 15-25bar.

4. Regular Maintenance

In addition to regular cleaning, lubrication, and inspection, it is important to schedule regular maintenance for the compressor. This may involve replacing worn-out parts, cleaning the condenser coils, and checking the refrigerant levels. Regular maintenance ensures that the compressor is in peak condition and prevents unexpected breakdowns.

Pump motor Check regularly, clean dust and blockage in the pipe
Heater for humidifier Check regularly, check if it can work normally
Solid-state relay Check regularly, clean dust and tighten screws
Water tank Drain the water inside the tank and clean up the internal impurities and dirt once a month.
Floating ball of water cup Functional check, check if the float ball could float normally. Clean the impurities in float once a month.
Floating ball of water tank Functional check, check if the float ball could float normally. Clean the impurities in float once a month.
Floating ball of humidifier Functional check, check if the float ball could float normally. Clean the impurities in float once a month.
Water cup Open the cover, clean the impurities and dirt inside regularly.
Pipe Check if the pipe is clogged.
Wet wick Check regularly, check if the wet wick turned yellow and moldy.
