What Do You Know about The Anti-aging Test of Building Materials

Jan 21, 2020

Sun and rain can cause degradation of many building materials, including roofing, wall panels, and wooden decorative lights. Damage caused by destructive forces to building materials.

Can your building material products withstand the outdoor test? How long does it last? Does your new raw material supplier have the same quality as your previous one? Whether changes in production processes have led to changes in weatherability. If it can be detected, don't guess.

Unlike other materials, building materials require longer and more continuous weathering tests. For the construction industry, the weatherability of products is also a long-standing concern of the construction industry.

LIB's weather resistance testing equipment has been included in many customers in different industries, including multiple customers in building materials and construction products, among which the measurement products include:

Roofing materials,

Such as: asphalt tiles, clay, ceramic tiles, wood shakers, slate, composite tiles, concrete tiles, hot mops, metal, cold roof technology.

Wallboard, including wood, aluminum, vinyl, cement fiber types

Drains, downpipes and other similar fittings

Windows and doors, including coatings and profiles

Weather seal, decoration, sealant and caulk

Exterior paints, stains and paints

Wood, composites, metal

The primary weathering conditions simulated by LIB's accelerated aging tester reduce building materials outdoors, allowing our customers to accurately reproduce dozens of potential failure modes, including:

Color change and discoloration, yellowing, cracking, embrittlement, peeling and delamination, chalking, tarnishing, blistering, loss of strength, shrinkage

The LIB aging test box can be used to test the weather resistance of coatings and doors and windows, siding, and decoration and sealants. In addition to the LIB UV accelerated aging test chamber, the LIB xenon test chamber is also a common weather resistance testing equipment. The LIB xenon test chamber can accurately simulate sunlight and restore the aging and degradation caused by the sun.

Architectural coatings must also withstand the erosion of corrosive forces. The LIB salt spray corrosion test chamber is the perfect tool to reproduce realistic industrial or marine corrosion in the laboratory.
