1. Evenly sprinkle talcum powder on the surface of the tested shell, and then perform the air extraction test.
2. The tested shell is placed in the test box, the pressure in the shell is kept below atmospheric pressure with a vacuum pump, and the extraction hole should be connected to the hole specially set for the test. If the special product standard does not specify, the hole should be located close to the position of the vulnerable parts.
3. If a special hole cannot be provided, the suction pipe should be connected to the cable inlet. If there are additional holes (such as more cable inlets or drainage holes), these holes should be kept in normal working condition.
4. The purpose of the test is to use the pressure difference to pump the air inside the box into the tested equipment, the pumping volume is 80 times the tested shell volume, and the pumping speed does not exceed 60 times the shell volume per hour. The pressure difference shall not exceed 5kPa (20 mbar) in any case.
5. If the pumping speed is 40 to 60 times the shell volume per hour, the test is carried out for 2h.
6. If the maximum pressure difference is 2kPa and the pumping speed is less than 40 times the shell volume per hour, the test can be stopped after continuous pumping of 80 times the volume or full pumping of 8h.
7. After the test, observe the deposition amount and deposition location of talc powder. If the sediment in the tested shell does not exceed 10% of the space inside the shell, and no part of talc powder can enter the minimum space enough to affect the normal operation of the equipment, it is considered that the tested shell has reached the dustproof level of IP5X.
