NUS Orders PV Module Test Chamber From LIB

Jul 24, 2023

In July 2022, LIB Company has been awarded a contract by the National University of Singapore (NUS) for the supply and installation of a PV Module test chamber. It will enable NUS to carry out environmental aging test on PV modules according to their needs.

The project was initially requested by NUS in July 2022. The NUS was looking for a reliable and high-quality provider of PV Module test chamber for their laboratory. After evaluating various suppliers, NUS announced that LIB is the perfect choice.

After communication and field investigation, knowing the space structure of the laboratory, the size of the door and the PV modules, LIB recommended the most suitable test chamber – WSC-057. This PV Module test chamber can meet the customer's test needs: to realize the salt spray corrosion test and damp heat RH test of PV modules in one equipment. It also meets the following test standards:

IEC 68-2-11,

IEC68-2-52,

IEC 61701,

UL1703.37.2,

IEC61215 10.13

The product was delivered on time, installed and debugged by our engineers, and soon used and tested in the lab.

PV module test chamber is only one of the equipment necessary for PV panel environmental aging test. Temperature and humidity test, UV-preconditioning and water immersion test require different equipment, and we LIB will continue to provide more environmental aging chambers to support NUS scientific research.

LIB PV Module Temperature Change Test Chamber

LIB's PV Panel Temperature Change Test Chamber is designed for rigorous environmental testing, providing highly precise control over temperature and humidity to simulate real-world conditions:

Damp Heat Test: Maintains 85 °C ± 2 °C and 85 % ± 5 % RH for up to 1,000 hours, replicating tropical humidity conditions to evaluate corrosion risk and early material degradation.

Humidity Freeze Test: Conducts cycles between hot/humid 85 °C/85 % RH and subfreezing –40 °C for ten repetitions, testing seal integrity, moisture ingress resistance, and mechanical resilience under sudden thermal shocks.

Thermal Cycling: Performs 50 or 200 temperature cycles between –40 °C and 85 °C, holding each extreme for 10 minutes; full cycles complete in under six hours to mimic day-night and seasonal temperature changes.

Equipped with high-accuracy PT100 Class A sensors, PID controllers, stainless steel interior/exterior, touch-screen programmer, optional module racks with rollers, and cable ports for in-place testing, the chamber ensures compliance with IEC 61215, IEC 61646, and UL 1703 standards. The chamber can be customized for various PV panel sizes and capacities.
