The car supplies can work normally at a certain high temperature, only 3M glue will be greatly affected. Today, our high-temperature test is mainly aimed at the concentration of volatile organic compounds (hereafter referred to as VOC) of the product.
First, the high temperature car into a gas chamber?
We all know that there will always be odor at high temperature in the car, a large part of the reason is from the instrument board in the car, door interior panels, floor ceiling, etc., if the use of leather, sponges, rubber and other materials that do not meet environmental standards, it will emit benzene, toluene, xylene, styrene and other harmful gases (volatile organic compounds) all the time.
Therefore, these original interior parts will be strictly tested before leaving the factory to avoid harmful gases and cause air pollution in the car.
In contrast, the products of the automotive aftermarket are often not guaranteed after the installation of the interior materials, and it is easier to release harmful gases in the summer high temperature environment, which seriously causes chest tightness and headaches for the car personnel.
And because of the situation of air pollution in the car after the installation of car supplies, the source of pollution is difficult to investigate, and the consequences can not be compensated by the car factory, and can only think of themselves as unlucky. Therefore, the VOC release of various afterassembly supplies in the car at high temperatures is the main purpose of our investigation.
According to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine jointly issued the "concentration requirements of volatile organic compounds in the air inside the car", the formaldehyde in the car shall not be higher than 0.10 mg/m³. If the formaldehyde content in the car is higher than 3 mg per cubic meter, it will cause human discomfort, and children and sensitive groups can even cause asthma.
In order to test the volatile organic concentration of each item, we choose to test them in the test box, so the final data will be different from the volatile concentration in the car environment, only as a reference for comparison between items.

Second, after the high temperature test of automotive supplies
The supplies installed after the car have many possibilities according to personal hobbies and vehicle configuration, foot pads, seat covers, steering wheel covers, car perfume, dashcam, pendant decoration, etc. The more types of products, the more sources that affect the VOC in the car.
This time we chose the mobile phone stand, dashcam, car perfume, steering wheel cover as the basic supplies for the test.
Test process:
It can be seen that the test container we choose is a common plastic box, and the plastic box is only 100L, so the formaldehyde content obtained during the test process may be higher than the concentration required in the car. The purpose of this test is to compare the release of VOC by different automotive products, and the final test results cannot be used as their release of VOC in the car.
Because the test process requires heating, we measured the formaldehyde content in the empty tank at room temperature of 25℃ before the test, and the formaldehyde content in the empty tank after heating to 60℃.
The formaldehyde content of the empty box was 0.121 mg/m³, which exceeded the formaldehyde content standard in the car. Therefore, this experiment can only be used as a reference for VOC release of the car supplies.
After the temperature in the empty box is heated to 60℃ for half an hour, the formaldehyde content in the empty box is 0.128mg/m³.
