According to the IS020653 road vehicle IP waterproof code standard, the ipx9k test chamber is mainly used for IPX9K waterproof testing of road vehicle electrical components, and is a waterproof test equipment designed for simulating natural environments or artificial high-pressure car washes.

Capable of withstanding the hot steam washout tests defined in EN 60529:2013, ISO 20653:2013 and DIN 40050-9. This provides protection against water pressures of 100 bar (1450 psi) and temperatures of 80oC.
Pressure is applied directly to the sensor in 30 degree increments (0, 30, 60 and 90 degrees) for 30 seconds at each angle for a total of 120 seconds (2 minutes), preventing the ingress of water.
