IPX7 Waterproof Test is one of the waterproof grades tests determined according to the IEC60529 standard, which is commonly used internationally to define the protection of an interface against liquid and solid particles. This standard quantifies the different categories of protection, mainly for solid foreign objects entering the shell (including tools, fingers or dust, etc.) and for water (water entering the outer shell by condensation, flushing, immersion, etc. causing harmful effects on the equipment).

The two digits behind IP indicate the protective strength of the equipment shell against solid foreign objects and water intrusion. The first digit indicates the level of electrical equipment against dust and foreign objects, and the second digit indicates the degree of confinement of the equipment against moisture and water intrusion, and the larger the digit, the higher the protection level.

Sometimes, the level of protection is unknown or hasn't been tested. In these cases, an 'X' replaces the numeral. IPX waterproof rating is divided into a total of 8 levels, respectively from IPX1 to IPX8, the waterproof ability is enhanced in turn. IPX0 indicates that it is not waterproof at all. IPX7 Waterproof means the device has level 7 water sealing, while its protection against dust is unknown.

The IP68 label means that it is the highest level of protection specification? In fact, such a concept is wrong!
