1. Simulate full sunlight spectrum  

The Xenon lamp weather resistance test chamber measures the light resistance of a material by exposing it to ultraviolet, visible, and infrared light.  It uses filtered xenon arc lamps to produce a spectrum of sunlight that best matches the sun's rays.  

A xenon arc lamp with a reasonable filtration process is the best way to test the sensitivity of the product to ultraviolet and visible light at longer wavelengths in sunlight, either directly or through glass.  

2. Light resistance test of indoor materials  

Products placed in retail stores, warehouses, or other environments also exhibit significant photodegradation due to long-term exposure to fluorescent, halogen, or other luminescent lights.  The xenon lamp aging chamber simulates the reproduction of the destructive light produced in such commercial lighting environments and speeds up the testing process at higher intensiities.
