Color fastness is the core index to evaluate the quality of textiles, and the inspection and testing standards for textile color fastness are becoming more and more strict, involving the evaluation of textile color stability, color fastness to perspiration, color fastness to water, color fastness to light and other elements. Many textiles fade after repeated washing or sun exposure, mainly due to the color fastness of textiles is not up to standard, low color fastness will cause discoloration or staining and other problems. In order to ensure that the quality of textiles meets the requirements of market sales and the satisfaction of consumers, it is necessary to do a good job in the color fastness inspection of textiles.
Types of color fastness tests
The dyeing fastness of fabric is related to the type of fiber, yarn structure, fabric structure, dyeing method, dye type and external force.
The test of color fastness generally includes color fastness to soap washing, color fastness to friction, color fastness to perspiration, color fastness to water, color fastness to light (sun), color fastness to seawater, color fastness to saliva, color fastness to chlorine water, color fastness to dry cleaning, color fastness to heat pressure, etc. Sometimes there are some special requirements for color fastness according to different textiles or different use of the ring fastness tester.
Usually when the color fastness test is carried out, it is the degree of discoloration of the stain and the degree of coloring of the paste, and the color fastness is rated, in addition to the color fastness to light is 8, the rest are 5. The higher the number, the better the color fastness.
