IP69K Test Chamber In the IEC 60529 rating system, IP6 refers to the product’s ability to resist ingress of dust. The 9K refers to the product’s ability to resist ingress of high temperature (Steam) / high pressure water.
So IP69K is not a single overall product, but a grouping of two test chambers, IPX9K and IP6X.
IPX9K
IPX9K high pressure and high temperature water spray test chamber is widely used in the electronics, military and consumer product industries. IPX9K is the highest rating currently available for water ingress protection in accordance with IEC 60529 and ISO 20653.

- Product description
The machine simulates the water pressure of 8000-10000Kpa. It adopts the high-power high-pressure water pump imported from Italy and the specially customized high-pressure solenoid valve, which can accurately control the water pressure and water flow, and the pressure error can be reduced to 0.01Kpa.
The heating tube is located inside the tank, which can ensure the maximum temperature of 88 degrees Celsius. There is a layer of tin foil insulation cotton outside the tank.
The inside of the nozzle is rectangular structure, 0.6*1.7 mm, and the material is cold rolled steel after decarbonization, and the pipe material connecting the nozzle is steel wire silicone resistant to high temperature and high pressure.

How is the product usually tested
Products rated to IP69K must be able to withstand high-pressure and steam cleaning.
The test specifies a spray nozzle that is fed with 80 °C water at 80–100 bar (~1160-1450) and a flow rate of 14–16 L/min.
The nozzle is held 10–15 cm from the tested device at angles of 0°, 30°, 60° and 90° for 30 seconds each.
The IP69K test device sits on a turntable that rotates once every 12 seconds.
