● This standard specifies the test procedures used to determine the resistance of different photovoltaic modules to salt spray corrosion containing Cl- (NaCl, MgCl2, etc.) elements.
● Including sampling, testing procedures, pretreatment, initial measurement, salt spray testing procedures, cleaning and recovery, final testing, requirements, test reports, etc.
● The purpose of the IEC 61701 standard is to evaluate the possible failure of photovoltaic modules in a humid environment with a high concentration of dissolved salts (NaCl).
Compound Test Method

a. Neutral test
Test room: 35℃±2℃ Saturated air barrel: 47℃±2℃
b. Acid test
Test room: 50℃±2℃ saturated air barrel: 63℃±2℃
c. Humidity test
Test room: 40℃±2℃, relative humidity 90%~95%R?H (equipment can meet the set temperature to 60℃, relative humidity to 98%RH)
The heating is a tank-type heating and humidification method of the inner tank, which has a fast temperature rise and a uniform temperature and humidity distribution
The saturated air bucket adopts automatic water replenishment. After about 20 hours of continuous spraying, the water replenishment will start. After 1-2 minutes, the water replenishment will end and the spraying will continue.
d. Drying test
The air blower is used for drying treatment, and the specimens are dried for 24H under the conditions of standard atmospheric temperature (15℃~35℃) and relative humidity not higher than 50%
